China becomes the world's largest foreign direct investment inflow country

According to the "Global Investment Trend Monitoring Report" released by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development on October 15, global foreign direct investment in the first half of 2018 is about 470 billion US dollars, down 41% than the same period of last year. But it is remarkable that  is that China's foreign investment increased by 6% in the first half of the year, totaling more than 70 billion US dollars, becoming the world's largest foreign direct investment inflow country.

Recently, the multinational companies such as BMW, Ford, Exxon Mobil and BASF have either increased their investing capital in China or announced that they will make large-scale investments in the Chinese market.

Since the beginning of this year, the number of foreign companies investing in China has doubled. According to the data of the Ministry of Commerce, 41,431 foreign-invested enterprises were newly established nationwide from January to August, a year-on-year increase of 102.7%; actual use of foreign capital was 86.5 billion US dollars, an increase of 6.1% year-on-year. The growth rate of these two indicators in August was higher, with the growth of the two indicators by 126.8% and 11.4% respectively.
